St. Stephanus Lutheran Church, St. Paul

German Lutherans who initially met as a mission of Trinity Norwegian Lutheran Church established their own congregation in 1890. The land was acquired at that time at 739 Lafond Avenue and a brick Gothic Revival church, dedicated in 1891, was erected on the site. The building suffered severe damage in a fire in 1925 and was immediately rebuilt and enlarged.
