Minneapolis Society of the New Jerusalem (Swedenborgian)

Founded on November 17, 1862, this small congregation was affiliated with the denomination called the Church of the New Jerusalem, or the Swedenborgians. The congregation erected a frame church at 5th Avenue South and 9th Street, seating about 120, dedicating it on November 20, 1870. This building was rented to a variety of other religious groups.  In 1893 the congregation numbered around 60 members.
