1882: Hope Chapel organized by Westminster Presbyterian Church. Initially, the chapel met on an empty lot later occupied by the Northern Pacific freight house.
1889: Hope Chapel dedicated at the corner of 3rd St. & 9th Ave.
1897: Boys’ Club. Organized by Rev.Charles Stetzel of Westminster Presbyterian Church as a non-sectarian club primarily for newsboys to keep them off the streets. Out of a membership of 250 boys, fifty come from Jewish families.
1898: Chapel described as being on 9th & Washington Ave. N. Membership now 450.
1903: New chapel dedicated at Washington & 20th Ave. N.No mention of Boys’ Club; described in the newspaper as a church with a pastor.
